The Swan at Shakespeare’s Globe Wedding

The Swan at Shakespeare’s Globe Wedding

Last summer I had an enormous pleasure of being the Swan at Shakespeare’s Globe wedding photographer. The Swan at Shakespeare’s Globe is such a beautiful London wedding venue. It is perfectly situated on the south bank of the River Thames.

The room in which the wedding ceremonies take place, as well as the wedding breakfast and wedding disco, is the Balcony Room. It has a beautiful balcony overlooking the Thames and St. Paul’s cathedral, as well as Millenium Bridge to the left and the Southwark Bridge to the right. It is hard to imagine a better setting if you are looking for a perfect London wedding venue for small to middle size wedding. With the light streaming in through the large windows, The Swan at Shakespeare’s Globe makes for an ideal backdrop to wedding photos.

London Wedding Photographer at the Swan at the Globe

As a wedding photographer at Shakespeares Globe in London, I approached the wedding photography on the day in a typical Blue Lily Weddings style.

I simply focused on photographing the wedding day as it unfolded. The goal was to document all the big moments as well as the small ones in an authentic and emotional way. To capture all the love and the fun of the wedding day. As well as beautiful and relaxed portraits of the bride and groom.

In the end, the bride and groom received a set of wedding photos telling the complete story of the wedding day. By looking through them they were able to relive the day in vivid detail, bringing back the memories and the emotions. They were also able to see all the moments of the day that they would otherwise missed.

Other proffesionals who helped making this wedding day so awesome:

Dress:Ted Baker Bridal adapted by Jennifer Pritchard

Flowers: Wild Event Productions

The Swan at Shakespeare’s Globe Wedding Venue

The Swan at Shakespeare’s Globe is truly a perfect London wedding venue for anyone looking to get married in such a location.

The setting couldn’t be better or more central. Shakespeare’s Globe is situated right by the river Thames. That gives a nice feeling of space with The Balcony Room overlooking the Thames and Millenium Bridge as well as the beautiful and grand St.Pauls Cathedral. Interestingly, I have photographed another wedding at St. Pauls just a few weeks later!

The Swan’s Balcony Room is perfect for wedding photographs, bright and airy with beautiful views. It can hold a wedding ceremony and wedding breakfast and disco for up to 70 guests.

For larger weddings, the Shakespeare’s Globe offers the dramatic Underglobe which can accommodate for up to 350 guests. It has a full-size model oak tree as well as a grand sweeping staircase, ideal for a grand entrance!

Wedding Day Photography at Shakespeare’s Globe

The wedding day of Jen and Aaron at the Globe was just perfect and such a joy to photograph. We started the wedding day photography with some getting ready photos of the bride. Jen was accompanied by her bridesmaids as well as the proud mother nad the father of the bride.

After that is was off the Swan at the Globe, where the wedding guests were already gathering. They were greeted by the groom as well as his best men and ushers.

The wedding ceremony took place in the balcony room. After that everyone moved downstairs for the drinks reception when the ceremony room was quickly changed for the wedding breakfast.

After the meal, there were some very funny and equally moving speeches by the father of the bride, the groom and his best men.

The wedding photography finished with the traditional cake cutting, the first dance as well as some crazy dancefloor moves!

In between the official parts we managed to sneak out with the bride and groom take some beautiful photos of just the two of them while strolling along the Thames South Bank Tate Modern and Millenium Bridge.

Thank you, Jen and Aaron, for letting me document your beautiful wedding day. It was a true honour and pleasure!
