Windsor Wedding Photography
I love being a Windsor wedding photographer. Windsor is such a beautiful and photogenic city and definitely one of my favourite places in the UK for wedding photography. It is located in the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead in Berkshire. As we use to live in Windsor with the family, I always love to come back and revisit all the familiar places. Many of them are just perfect as backdrops to wedding photos.
When it comes to wedding photography, Windsor has so much to offer. Whether it is the beautiful green spaces and parks located along the Thames River or its gorgeous architecture with cobbled streets and crooked historical buildings. And of course the Windsor Castle, the out of London home to the Queen, which towers over the town and brings huge numbers of tourists pretty much every day of the year.
Wedding Photos Windsor
What I think gives me a great advantage as a Windsor wedding photographer is knowing the town and its surroundings so well. When photographing a wedding or doing a pre-wedding couple shoot I always know where to go with my couples to get the best views, light and angles.
Windsor is so great to photograph but also has its challenges. Especially when trying to capture the photos of just the bride and groom with the town always being so busy. Fortunately, I know many more secluded photo spots where I can always take my newly married couples and get the best results in all possible conditions.
Windsor Guild Hall Wedding
But please don’t take my word for it. Have a look at the selection of photographs from a recent intimate wedding of Paolo and Warren with the wedding ceremony at the Windsor Guildhall. Just a perfect place to get married, right next to Windsor Castle.
Cliveden House Wedding Photographer
The recent wedding I photographed where the grooms were getting ready at the Cliveden House in Windsor was truly a special one. It was a wedding of two amazing people, Paolo and Warren. The grooms got in touch with me some time ago. I was asked to photograph their Windsor wedding and we met up and started the day at the amazing Windsor wedding venue, the Cliveden House.
The most special thing about this wedding is that it was just the groom and groom and that was it. No wedding party, no wedding guests. It truly couldn’t e more intimate and beautiful. The guys could just focus on themselves and their love for each other. And I had the greatest pleasure and honour to document it for them.
Another special thing in this wedding was that because it was just the two grooms, one of the witnesses was appointed by the Windsor Guildhall (where the wedding ceremony took place) and I was the second one, an absolute honour and privilege.
It’s also the first time I’m in the official wedding photos as a witness. A credit to one of the lovely register ladies who took the photo with my camera!
I don’t think I remember photographing more moving wedding ceremony. When the grooms were reading their vows to each other, the register, the wedding musicians and of course me, we are all in tears! It’s moments like this that make being a Windsor wedding photographer so special!
Cliveden House Wedding Venue
Cliveden House is a Grade I stately home, making it a fitting setting for a fairytale wedding. The wedding venue has an opulent history and a glamorous guestlist of former visitors. Its luxuriant interiors strike the perfect balance between lavish and homely.
Cliveden House can host weddings big and small. It has many licensed ceremony rooms, like the Great Hall, the French Dining Room, the Boudoir, the Spring Cottage, Lady Astor Suite, Mountbatten Suite or the Churchill Room.
Wedding breakfasts can be held at the Cellar Dining Room, Boudoir, Waldos or the French Dining Room.
After meeting the grooms at the Cliveden House and taking a few photos around its beautiful grounds we jumped into the wedding car and drove towards the Windsor.
Windsor Guildhall Wedding Photography
The wedding ceremony took place at the Windsor Guildhall. The Windsor Guildhall is the town hall of Windsor. It is situated on the High Street, right by the Castle Hill, which leads to the main public entrance to Windsor Castle. It is a Grade I listed building and just great for wedding photography. It has a beautiful facade and an equally lovely and grand interior.
Through its strong links with the royal family, the Windsor Guildhall is a celebration of the opulent with a fine collection of royal portraits – many of which were gifted by the sovereign of the day – and two magnificent chandeliers, on loan to us by Her Majesty The Queen.
It is a perfect choice for anyone getting married in Windsor and looking to host a drinks reception, a banqueting experience or a venue for their wedding ceremony.
Documentary Wedding Photography Windsor
After the Windsor Guildhall wedding ceremony, we went for a walk with the newlyweds to take a few photographs around Windsor.
My approach was quite simple, and typical Blue Lily Weddings style. I just let the grooms enjoy the walk and each others company. We just stopped every now and then to take a nice photo when the light or the backdrop was a bit more special. Like the graffiti under the bridge. As I know Winsor so well we could maximise our wedding photography in short time. We combined more architectural wedding photos around town with having more greenery and nature in the backdrop while walking along the Thames River. I have to admit, the guys absolutely rocked their wedding photoshoot!
Thank you so much Paolo and Warren for letting me document your special day. It was such a joy and definitely a one to remember!
