Swallows Oast Wedding

Swallows Oast Wedding Photographer

If you are looking for a Swallows Oast wedding photographer, you came to the right place. I love photographing weddings at Swallows Oast in Ticehurst. It such a beautiful East Sussex countryside wedding venue. What is great about being East Sussex wedding photographer is that Swallows Oast is local to me so it is always just a short drive away.

I approach Swallows Oast wedding photography in the same way as I would any other wedding that I photograph in East Sussex and the UK. The Blue Lily Weddings approach is 95% documentary wedding photography. This photojournalistic approach is about photographing the wedding day as it happens, finding the best moments, light and composition without directing or staging the photos.

It is also about capturing in the photos what is unique about you and your wedding day. The connection and the emotion. And that is most often in those in-between moments between the bride and groom and their family and friends.

Swallows Oast Wedding Photos

Here is a selection of a few wedding photos from a Swallows Oast wedding I documented last summer in this gorgeous East Sussex wedding venue, enjoy!

Swallow Oast Wedding Day Photography

The Swallows Oast wedding photography on this beautiful East Sussex summers day couldn’t be more perfect. The bride and groom on the day – Esther and Sam were just two relaxed and down to earth people. They were after simply having an awesome wedding day in the company of their wedding guests. And this is what i enjoy documenting the most. The fun, love and connection in the wedding day moments.

As the bride and groom did not require any getting ready photos, which is more and more popular with weddings nowadays, we started the wedding day photography with guestd gathereing for the wedding ceremony in beautiful local church in Ticehurst.

I just loved the light and the atmosphere during the vows and exchange of the rings. Together with the gorgeous architecture if the church it created a perfect backdrop to the wedding ceremony wedding photos. After the ceremony there were the bells ringing, the confetti and many, many congratulations. And a few group formal photos with the wedding party and family as well.

After that the newlyweds took their classic wedding car to the Swallows Oast, the wedding venue for the rest of the day. What followed is a few nice photos of the bride and groom in the nearby woods, which are also great for outdoor wedding ceremonies in the summer.

After the drinks reception and a big group photo of all the guests there was a wedding breakfast followed by very moving and equally funny speeches by the father of the bride, the beat man and the gooom himself.

The music for the fist dance was played by a band and it was just perfect. All in all a great day. As a Swallows Oast weddi ng photographer i really couldn’t ask for much more.

Swallows Oast Wedding Venue

Swallows Oast is such a lovely wedding venue right on the border of East Sussex and Kent, in the village of Ticehurst.

Originally built in the 1830s, Swallows Oast is situated at Gibbs Reed Farm in Sussex. The character created by the sandstone & wooden structure evokes a medieval atmosphere – ideal for banquets, weddings and special occasions. As part of our rural heritage, Swallows Oast is such a great wedding venue at any time of the year.

The courtyard is a perfect place to receive the wedding guests and outside drinks reception. There is also an option of a marquee to accommodate a larger number of guest or to keep everyone warm in the winter months. Swallows Oast also offers barbecues and hog roasts, either served as your wedding breakfast or as an extra evening meal.

The main hall boasting the beautifully oak-beamed ceiling, the minstrels gallery and pine floor, is just ideal for wedding breakfast and wedding dancing after. It can accommodate up to 130 people, with a cosy, rustic rural atmosphere. Once up the spiral stairway, there is a spacious gallery. This can be used for extra tables, buffet layouts or just an area to overlook the proceedings. It is also great for wedding photography. I could easily photograph the speeches and the dancing without being noticed which is always a great bonus for the documentary type wedding photography.

Swallows Oast has also many options for an outside wedding day celebrations, especially in the summer months. It can host a wedding ceremony in the woods, nearby field or right in the courtyard. It has woodland trails and playground for the little ones. You can even land a helicopter in the nearby field for a wedding entrance no one will forget!
