Guards Chapel Wedding Photography
Recently I had an enormous pleasure to be a wedding photographer at a beautiful micro wedding at the famous Guards Chapel Wellington Barracks, also known as the Royal Military Chapel. It was the first time I had a chance to photograph a wedding at this stunning London venue in St James’s Park, right next door to the Buckingham Palace!
Cavalry and Guards Club Wedding Photographer
The wedding ceremony took place at the Guards Chapel Wellington Barracks, but the wedding day photography started right in the heart of London. Just next door to Green Park, at the famous Cavalry and Guards Club. I always love photographing weddings at the famous grand London buildings, and Cavalry and Guards Club was no exception. Right opposite the Hyde Park Corner and the Lanesborough where I also documented a wedding not too long ago, with the full gallery right here.
The Cavalry and Guards Club grand exteriors could only be matched by the beautiful interiors. Jenni, the bride to be on the day was getting ready in the Queen Elizabeth Room. It had just perfect light for the getting ready photos of the bride to be as well as her bridesmaids. She was also surrounded by the mother of the bride, mother of the groom and escorted of course by her dad. All the getting ready was just perfect for photography, beautiful and emotional. And the beautiful rooms of the Cavalry and Guards Club just added to the atmosphere, especially the grand staircase, just check the photos!

After the bride to be walked down with her dad to the London black cab we were all off to the Guards Chapel for the small and intimate wedding ceremony and this historical and so impressive building.
The grandeur of the Guards Chapel was even more emphasized by the relatively small number of wedding guests. Because of government restrictions due to coronavirus pandemic only a micro wedding could take place, which made the whole wedding day even more special and personal for the bride and groom and their closest ones.
Stafford London Wedding Reception
After the beautiful wedding ceremony at the Guards Chapel we moved to the Stafford Hotel for the wedding reception. It was just a perfect venue for the celebrations until the end of the day. After drinks reception and wedding breakfast, there were moving and so funny wedding speeches. Then it was cake cutting by the bride and groom and wine tasting which took place in the Stafford’s cellar.
Guards Chapel-London Wedding Venue
The Royal Military Chapel, or the Guards Chapel as it is more generally known, is located in Birdcage Walk on the south side of St. James’s Park and is the spiritual home of the Household Division. The present chapel was built in 1963 but rose from the ashes of the original chapel, destroyed by a flying bomb on 18th June 1944.
It is such an imposing and beautiful structure outside as well as inside. The great acoustics of the large space make it perfect for music concerts and the singer’s voice during the wedding ceremony was just breathtaking!
