Dartmouth House Wedding

Dartmouth House Wedding Photographer

Last summer I had an enormous pleasure and honour to be a Dartmouth House wedding photographer. This absolutely beautiful London Mayfair wedding venue is just perfect for anyone looking to tie the knot with style in the capital.

Dartmouth House has so much to offer. The best thing of all is the central London location. Other than that it has a gorgeous exterior and many beautiful rooms for the use of the wedding. And there is, of course, the marble grand staircase and the French Chateau style courtyard. Both so beautiful and just perfect for the wedding photos.

Dartmouth House Wedding Photos

My approach to the Dartmouth House wedding photography on this beautiful London summers day was simple. As with all other weddings photographed by Blue Lily Weddings, the goal was to let the bride and groom enjoy their day, while at the same moment documenting it for them in a beautiful and unobtrusive way. In the end, they ended up with a set of photos telling a full story of their wedding day. When looking at them they can relive it once more, bringing all the beautiful feelings and emotions to surface. As well as going through the moments they would have otherwise missed.

Here is a short selection of photos from this stunning London Dartmouth House wedding, enjoy!

Dartmouth House Wedding Venue

When it comes to London wedding venues Dartmouth House has to be right there on top with a few others. It has simply the best location, right in the heart of Mayfair, of the most beautiful parts of London.

It a Georgian House that now serves the purpose of being the headquarters of the English-Speaking Union. It is located just southwest off Berkley Square, at 37 Charles Street. It was built in the mid 18th century and over the years changed its owners a few times. Each one of them added something new to the now very imposing building. It has recently been upgraded to a Grade II listed building.

Dartmouth House is truly a perfect backdrop for anyone looking to create beautiful wedding photography in the heart of London. The interiors are just stunning. Dartmouth House has a grand marble staircase, a wedding ceremony room with dark oak walls and wedding breakfast room with huge Georgian windows flooding the room with light. All of the rooms are beautifully ornamented with fine details and gorgeous chandeliers. SImply a perfect setting for documentary wedding photography as well as the staged wedding couple and group photos.

Dartmouth House Wedding Day Photography

The Dartmouth House wedding I had the pleasure of photographing last summer was everything a London wedding photographer could ask for. A beautiful and so much in love bride and groom Bilio and Andrew, with a happy bunch ao wedding guest around them.

Getting Ready

The wedding day photography started with getting ready photos of the groom in a nearby hotel. He was in the company of his groomsmen and best man, who helped with the final touches. Of those putting the bow tier on prooved especially tricky.

Then I followed the groom to the bride getting ready location. A touching moment between soon to be a married couple was when the groom handed the bride a handwritten note over a slightly open door. There were definitely a few tears when she read it.

The bride to be was getting ready in the company of her bridesmaids, the maid of honour, as well as the mother and the father of the bride. There were wedding champagne and many laughs and years. Just perfect to compliment the wedding day photography. Everyone gathered agreed Bilio looked absolutely stunning in her wedding dress!

Wedding Ceremony at Dartmouth House

From there we walked to the Dartmouth House where the wedding ceremony took place. The wedding ceremony was held in the Churchill Room, It is a striking and opulent space with its antique walnut panelling on the walls and doors.

After the ceremony, we organised the confetti shot just outside on the street. That followed by the drinks reception in the beautiful French Chateau style courtyard. it is also there where we did a few formal group photographs. Then we sneaked out with the bride and groom for a quick couple shoot on the surrounding streets of Mayfair.

Wedding Breakfast at the Long Drawing Room

On the wat back the newlyweds had a shot of traditional Greek liqueur before the grand entrance. The wedding breakfast took places in the Long Drawing Room. A truly spectacular space with Robert Adam’s fireplace, full-length sash windows and French-style rococo ornaments.

After the wedding breakfast, there were the speeches by the father of the bride, the groom and the best man team as well as the maid of honour team. So much laughter and a few tears!

Then it was the first dance and cutting of the cake. The evening part of the wedding took place in the Churchill Room. There was the moving performance singing by the sister of the bide accompanied by an acoustic guitar and some amazing traditional Greek dancing right after. So much fun and so great to photograph!

All in all perfect wedding day, full of love and connection. Thank you so much Bilio and Andrew for trusting in me to document it for you!
